These displays typically have lower brightness levels compared to outdoor counterparts since they don't need to combat direct sunlight. Indoor displays usually operate within the range of 300 to 1000 nits (candelas per square meter), providing clear and vivid images without causing discomfort to viewers in close proximity.

 

Outdoor LED Displays:

Outdoor LED displays face the challenge of combating high ambient light levels, including direct sunlight, which can wash out images on screens with insufficient brightness. Therefore, outdoor displays require much higher brightness levels to maintain visibility and readability under various lighting conditions. Typically, outdoor LED displays have brightness levels ranging from 5000 to 10000 nits or even higher, ensuring optimal visibility even in broad daylight.

 

Choosing the Right Brightness:

When selecting an LED display, it's crucial to consider the intended application and the ambient lighting conditions. For indoor environments with controlled lighting, a display with moderate brightness levels (300-1000 nits) would suffice, providing clear visuals without causing discomfort to viewers. However, for outdoor applications exposed to direct sunlight, such as roadside billboards, stadium screens, or outdoor advertising, a high-brightness display (5000 nits and above) is essential to ensure visibility and readability from a distance.
